The resort works to reduce environmental impact by working with clean energy solutions while investing in the economic independence of local residents. The operation of this site produces zero carbon due to the investment of the transfer of hot water boiler, which eliminates the daily natural gas consumption of 880 cubic meters and generates RMB 1.4 million (about $200,000 USD) in annual cost savings. The resort’s “Xi Ai Home” project empowers more than 120 people with disabilities in the area, supporting more than RMB 200,000 (about $30,000) in handicraft sales. By combining sustainable efforts with first-class service, the resort helps to protect the important ecological environment and cultural heritage of the Jiuzhaigou Valley.

Susona Bodrum, which offers a luxurious experience for guests looking for a unique stay near the Aegean sea, uses 100 percent renewable energy and uses solar energy for power and hot water heating throughout the property. The property is one of the hotels in the Hilton portfolio that meets all of its water needs from a seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant while using recycled water for all of the country’s irrigation. In addition to being recognized by Hilton, the property has several independent certifications, including Zero Waste, Green Star and Blue Flag, among others.

Examples of performance measures include energy reduction, water reduction, waste reduction, environmental projects, community volunteering, career development activities, fair sourcing, team member awareness of Hilton’s Travel with Purpose program, and more. Performance data on these metrics was collected from LightStay, Hilton’s industry-leading data management platform.
