Canada’s travel advice and tips now have colour-coded, user-friendly maps for 230 locations.

OTTAWA, CONTINUE, March 30, 2026 /CNW/ – Travel Advice and Tips Canada now has color-coded, easy-to-use maps for 230 locations. This map shows the level of danger – nationally and regionally – making it easy to understand the safety of your destination at a glance.

What is Travel Advice and Advice?

Travel Tips and Advice is available at Travel.gc.ca and provides specific Government of Canada information and analysis of situations that may affect your safety when traveling or living abroad. They help you make informed decisions and stay safe outside of Canada.

Each destination page contains information about:

• dangerous situations

• safety and security

• entry and exit requirements

• recommended health care measures

• rules and culture

• climate and natural disasters

What is the level of risk?
The risk level is the Government of Canada’s official measure of the safety and security of a destination, country or region.

The four conditions are:

There are some safety and security issues, or the situation can change quickly. Always exercise caution, monitor local media and follow the instructions of local authorities.

You should consider your need to visit this country, place or area based on family or business needs, knowledge or familiarity with the area and other factors. This could be due to a terrorist threat, civil unrest, war, insurgency, natural disaster, political instability or a health emergency. These factors directly affect the risk level assigned to each destination and may also affect travel insurance.

The new maps provide a clear, visual way to quickly understand risk situations. They show risks either by country or region, depending on the situation.
