Her days of starring in shows like “Girlfriends” and “Black-‘ish” may be behind her, but Tracee Ellis Ross has found a new group of fans with her PATTERN Beauty products, which are designed to help people with coily, curly, and difficult textures have the beautiful and beautiful hair they deserve. Since 2019, his company has become a major force in the beauty market, and as the brand grows, so does the need for a dedicated space for the team that makes things happen every day.
In collaboration with Design Within Reach (DWR), Ross designed a bright, modern office space in West Hollywood that his team says is the perfect image of the brand.
“The foundation needed to reflect the character of the brand,” lead designer Alyssa Lewis told Interior Design.
So when Ross and DWR opened the doors to the PATTERN Beauty offices, we couldn’t wait to take a look inside. Take a look here!
A Place Where People Can Be Independent
Ross says it was important to him to create a place where people feel comfortable coming to work every day.
He said: “I don’t like people who come and pretend to be something they’re not. What I like most is when people can feel confident and have a choice about who they are.
Model Influence

Ross said the inspiration for her PATTERN line of beauty products came from what she saw as a lack of products available that supported healthy, natural hair for people of color.
She said: “I didn’t see the beauty value that really makes up for curly, blonde and rough hair.
More Light

When choosing pieces for the space, Ross wanted to combine beautiful materials with tools that help inspire everyone who works there.
Areas of Cooperation

Among his favorite parts of the office are the bright breakout rooms designed for his team members to collaborate in small groups. Glass walls and large windows provide plenty of light to help bring out the best ideas.
Conference Room

With over 400,000 followers on Instagram and distribution at major retailers, including Sephora, Ulta Beauty and Macy’s, there’s no doubt that PATTERN is doing big business. We have to admit that this large meeting room with lots of seating and floor to ceiling windows is where most of the big deals go down.
Indicators of Success

When you walk through the PATTERN Beauty offices, you’re reminded that CEO and founder Tracee Ellis Ross is the boss.
Icon Image

When designing the space, Ross said it was important for the office to reflect the brand. The clean lines and soft colors found in her product packaging come in every room.
Intentional Design

From floor to ceiling, it’s clear that Ross and his team designed the space with purpose, choosing pieces that make a simple statement.
Eclectic style

Ross calls his design style eclectic and says he’s drawn to pieces that feel like they have a history.
Model Play

The neutral color is enhanced by chic furniture and an area rug, creating a perfect place to relax during the day.
Art is Everywhere

The walls of this relaxing kitchen area are covered with large photographs from PATTERN campaigns.
Art is Everywhere

The walls are lined with colorful photos that celebrate Black beauty.
Brilliant Tools

Although the space is filled with wooden furniture, it does not feel dark. In fact, there are bright, beautiful accessories in every room.
Stylish Storage

This warehouse is a bright, open space to store a variety of PATTERN products. One of the important points in the room is a storage space that doubles as a good furniture.
