The winner of the Miss Grand Thailand pageant had an unforgettable moment on stage.
In the preliminary rounds of the March 25 competition in Bangkok, 18-year-old Kamolwan Chanago began to verbally introduce himself to the judges and his team.
While giving introductions, Chanago’s speech became very slurred as his false teeth came out and affected his pronunciation.
Chanago didn’t let the awkwardness bother her, as she turned to the audience to change her look before quickly stepping back and giving the camera her best model face.
She then walked down the runway and stood in her nude yellow dress and pink-blue shawl, as the crowd cheered for her.

“During her introduction on stage, Kamolwan Chanago had a small and unexpected incident where her big teeth came out,” a spokesperson for Miss Grand International told People magazine.
They continued: “She handled the situation beautifully and calmly, and the event went off without a hitch. We are proud of her confidence and stage presence throughout the competition.”

According to The Associated Press, an onlooker at the event said she “handled this better than most of us handle a bad hair day,” before asking if this might be “the weirdest moment ever.”
The appearance of the actor on the stage is an important factor to win over the judges, and although the recent winner of Miss America, Cassie Donegan, was able to win over the judges, the viewers at home flooded the social media with strong criticism, arguing that her makeup looks heavy and difficult.

“The truth is, when something as big as this happens, there’s going to be a lot of reaction,” Donegan told Fox News Digital in September 2025 about the criticism.
“Everyone is entitled to their opinion, especially on a public platform like the internet,” he continued. “Yes, there is negativity there, and that’s their reality. They’re allowed to have those feelings, and I totally respect that. But I’m surrounded by a lot of love and a lot of support and a lot of people who have supported me… I just can’t believe it. [their negativity] to hide something strange going on.”

Donegan added that while it’s “hard not to turn on my phone” and see what people are saying, she’s learned that other people’s opinions about her may be “reasonable because that’s their truth, but it doesn’t mean it’s my opinion of me.”
As Miss America, Donegan explained, instead of focusing on negativity, she hopes to be an example to young girls, saying she wants them to know that “she is not so different from you now, and you can do anything you want to do.”

“I want them to believe in themselves, because if they don’t believe, no one else will,” said the winner of the competition. “Empowerment really comes from within. And if there’s a little part of me that brings that spark out to them, then I’ve done my part. It’ll be something I’ll be grateful to be a part of.”
