This year, bring on the gingham, says interior designer Michelle Gage, founder of Michelle Gage Interiors.
“Although this print tends to pop up for warmer seasons, it’s really a timeless staple with staying power,” Gage says of this fun checked design. “It plays well with other prints as well, and can be a great layer.”
Feel free to use it in your pillows, throws, or even window treatments, as Gage did in the play area shown here. However, gingham is definitely not just for kids; the print would look great combined with living rooms, primary bedrooms and more.

Speaking of window treatments, this time of year is when people will give theirs an upgrade, says Gage. Of course, if you don’t have one any one While you’re in your home, you’ll definitely want to choose a fun way to get things moving.
“When the sun is shining, sometimes a little protection is needed,” Gage says. “Why not dress your windows with beautiful pictures to make something beautiful and practical?”
Remember that if you have a sewing machine, you can even go the DIY route to make your own window treatments using leftover fabric you have for an inexpensive upgrade.

Nothing says spring like sweet pastels. In particular, let’s go to yellow this season – according to interior designer Corinne Back, founder of Corinne Victoria Design, it will have a big time this season. She explains that butter yellow is the most popular yellow color of late, although she herself weaves a lot of mustard colors into her projects.
“It’s great for mud rooms, pantries and second bedrooms for privacy,” Back says. Mustard is a good choice for those who generally gravitate toward neutrals but want to experiment with some colors.
In this living room, the mustard colored sofa is not as bold as the bright yellow option but still adds a welcome pop of color to the collection.

Currently, people are moving into their homes, and that will continue during the spring, shares Daniela Alilovic, founder of Spaces by Dee.
“We’re seeing a shift toward taupes, oak tones, travertine and mixed metals as well as other materials,” Alilovic says. “I notice that people are becoming more open to experimentation, moving away from predictable options and relying on materials that add character and visual interest to a space.”
Regarding the types of metal that you can choose for your home, the interior designer has been aware of bronze and chrome is making big waves in particular. You can always combine these colors gradually in the form of small decorative objects, as shown here with some pieces of copper, or small pieces of furniture such as side tables.
