Spring has officially arrived after what felt like an endless, bitter winter in NYC. The warmer weather means we can finally take a closer look at many of the styles we saw on the Summer / Summer 2026 runways last season, and plan our wardrobes for the upcoming season.
This year, there are many traditions that we will incorporate into our midst for the warmer months. On runways from New York to Paris, Chartreuse has proven to be the color of the season, appearing everywhere from Tibi and Simone Rocha to Balenciaga and Saint Laurent. Style tricks like tie waists appeared at Ferragamo, Chloé and Isabel Marant, while bras worn as tops were popular in Milan at Prada and Jil Sander.
For outerwear, it was turtleneck coats and suede bombers, adding a lighter feel to our pieces instead of the heavy coats we’ve been wearing since November, featured at Altuzarra, Coach, Miu Miu and Alaïa.
Ahead, see all the Spring 2026 trends you can spot for the season.

Chartreuse was clearly the biggest color trend on the runway for Spring/Summer 2026, and for Spring, we’re already seeing it in full IRL. From silky chartreuse at Simone Rocha to lightweight nylon at Saint Laurent, this acid-toned hue has been named the theme wedding color for 2026 brides, and we’re sure we’ll see it go even further this year.

Although there were many examples during the Spring / Summer 2026 season for a tie at the waist (see: Ferragamo, Isabel Marant, Chloé and Dior), the production of a tie at the waist continues from last year, where we saw the flow of silk scarves tied at the waist to create size and shape in a simple way. This season, ties are lifted with fringe trim, detailed with leather, and woven into dresses like Jonathan Anderson did at Dior for added volume.

Perhaps the biggest trend in outerwear This year is the funnel neck coat. First popular on the runways of Spring / Summer 2026, finding a turtleneck jacket is not a difficult task due to the elegance of the silhouette in the past months. Featuring techy, weatherproof fabrics and leather options, some of our favorites were spotted at Altuzarra, Alaïa, and Khaite for SS26.

The peplum hasn’t had such a big moment on the circuit since the early 2010s, and for Spring, the cinched-in-the-waist silhouette is back and feeling more modern than ever. On the Summer / Summer 2026 runway, it was Tibi, Sacai, and Dior who emphasized the hourglass silhouette, which has now added to our daily style in the shapes we choose.

We expect bras to be a Spring wardrobe staple once it warms up enough to wear fashion. From Prada’s Spring/Summer 2026 show, where bandeaus were worn with fitted dresses and loose apron-like bras, to Jil Sander’s structured bra-tops and Sandy Liang’s playful gingham options, the SS26 runways made it clear that underwear is still in fashion this season.

Whoever said that suede is made for fall and winter hasn’t seen the Spring/Summer 2026 runway offerings. Imagine this: a breezy spring afternoon or summer night with a long Hermés coat, an Altuzarra high-neck jacket, a Miu Miu bomber jacket, or a suede biker jacket draped over your shoulders. Designers gave us endless suede jacket silhouettes to think about—the options are endless.

Personal Features
Innerwear like outerwear is a timeless trend. From a wide lace dress from Valentino to tops and dresses from Stella McCartney, Chloé, and Ferragamo, the Spring/Summer 2026 runways have us thinking about the season’s favorites. Lace detailing, wide panels, and a general sense of vanity all contribute to a look that straddles the line between sloppy and innocent.

Dear Shoulder
This season is all about shoulders. The designers showed the shoulders in every possible way: with completely bare clothes, shirts and straps that fell on one exposed shoulder, and tops that revealed both. With bare accessories and bare shoulders being all the rage as of late, there’s something simple and fun about bare shoulders. Eckhaus Latta, Zimmermann, Givenchy, and Courreges bought us all strapless spring dresses. Balmain made the case for off-the-shoulder slips, Bottega Veneta made us think of tank tops with one-shoulder straps, and Erdem made us dream of off-the-shoulder corsets.

We noticed a resurgence of crochet throughout Copenhagen Fashion Week in the form of cold weather accessories. We also know very well that crochet has the power to transcend the seasons – a crochet scarf for winter and a crochet dress for spring as presented in Balmain’s 2026 collection, for example. Some designers have made a case for crochet in patterns for pants, skirts, and matching two-pieces.

Connect The Dots
The past few years have been a polka dot craze. Now, it’s time to accept that the constant pressure is not going anywhere. Mithridate and Khiate explored the ‘polka dot bubble’ at Depop, while Valentino and Nina Ricci put polka dot blouses on our minds. They are playful and nostalgic – what more could you ask for?
